Unexpected
“When you found the one you want. You’ll know.”
Brett messaged me back in May. He told me he was going to be in LA in a couple of weeks with his girlfriend. Little did I know they had planned a road trip to cross the US from New York to LA. The planning and commitment to plan something out like this is not an easy task. When I found out they were doing this road trip. I had this thought in my mind. -To do a road trip like this it involves commitment, planning, communication, trust. Having these 4 traits is a good step toward the right direction because these traits play a key role in marriage. Going forward he mentioned he wanted to propose to his girlfriend once they arrived. He had a few idea’s where he wanted to propose and ended with Griffith Observatory.
The day has arrived and I was almost as nervous as he was. I even had my wife and daughter come along to help me be NOT SO OBVIOUS when they arrived. I remember that day was very busy since it was a Saturday afternoon and there was a concert going on at the Greek Theatre. We had scheduled to meet at 7pm. I arrived an hour before and got very lucky with parking. My wife, daughter and I walked around and enjoyed the scenery at the same time looking out for spots to take pictures so I would be fully prepare. Brett mentioned he was running late which I understood because it was tough drive up there. 7:25 arrived and I started to get pretty nervous. After Brett mentioned they had to take a detour but they arrived. We spotted each other with a nod and felt like I was ready for anything. Yet nervous and anxious at the same time because all I could think was “How was I going to get THE shot”. As my wife, daughter and I tried to act “natural” We began to follow them. As they were enjoying the Observatory they walked around and checked out the beautiful view of Los Angeles. As Megan was admiring the view she turns around to see Brett on one knee. It was honestly an honor to experience this.
To Brett and Megan, congratulations! When you found the one you want. You’ll know and I’m glad both of you found each other. It was honestly an amazing feeling to grasp this moment in your life. I felt honored. Looking through these pictures all I saw was so much love and happiness. Now I’m not a professional when it comes to knowledge of marriage since I’ve only been married 5 years. Love is the easy part when it comes to marriage. My one and only advise would have to be, Listen. Just listen to each other. I wish you two nothing but good fortune and a long happy life together.
To my wife and daughter. Thank you so much for helping me. You 2 are my world. Mama and Baba, Papa loves you!
Here are some highlights.
